our story

Hey there! I’m Stephanie, and welcome to Moonjelly! I hope this page finds you well, and you take a few moments for yourself to stop, and truly appreciate the little bits of nature we have preserved for you.

Life is busy, I get it! I’m a mom, wife, teacher, and the list goes on, but I’m also endlessly drawn to nature, the forest, and the ocean, and spending time outdoors is just as necessary to me as the air I breathe. It is so good for the mind.

The evolution of Moonjelly was as natural as the pieces we create. I have always loved collecting little bits of nature, and I asked my mom for my first flower press when I was 10 years old (I still use it sometimes!). One of my first memories of pressed flowers was covering my swing set with double sided tape, and covering it with dried daisies and all different types of wildflowers!

Do you ever feel like you want to freeze time? That’s how I feel about my daughters growing up. When my youngest daughter started picking flowers for the people she loves, I started thinking, even though we can’t freeze this moment in time, we can certainly keep a little piece of it for ourselves for years to come. So, I ordered all the materials, practiced a lot, and started turning the flowers she collected into jewelry! Every buttercup, every fern, every tiny flower I put in a piece of jewelry is important to me. It represents family, adventure, time spent together, and the beauty that is nature.

It is so easy to take the little things for granted. Take the time to notice the little flower poking through the crack in the sidewalk. Take the time to smell the salt air at the beach. Notice the little critters swimming around in the tide pools. Never miss a sunset. Slow down, and notice the beauty around you.

I hope you enjoy our jewelry as much as we have enjoyed creating it. It truly is a labour of love.
